We’ve come across several clever campervan conversions in our time, but this is particularly ingenious – a campervan converted from an ambulance!
The Lindner family from Cranworth, Norfolk, bought the classic 1969 ambulance on an internet auction site for just under £3,000 after originally going online to look for a ‘traditional’ campervan but failing to find anything tall enough for father Jonathan to stand up in.
“We went camping in the summer of 2012 and the weather was appalling. I always wanted a campervan and so started looking on eBay,” Jonathan’s wife Jay told the Eastern Daily Press. “I came across this old ambulance and thought it was so quirky. It didn’t fit any of Jonathan’s criteria, but we’ve all fallen in love with it.”
The Linders’ story was so captivating that they were featured on the television show George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces, the latest series of which is airing on Channel 4 on Thursdays.
