Fire hydrants are to be installed at mobile home park, Cavans Wood in Huntington, Staffordshire following a ferocious grass fire.
On Tuesday 22nd July, 30 fire fighters were called to the blaze in a straw field bordering West Chadsmoor and Huntington and was thought to have been started by young arsonists. It rose 100ft in the air for more than an hour in the small field.
A homeowner on the site raised the alarm and described the fire as bring really frightening. She spoke of her concerns of having no fire hydrants on site and having only one entrance and exit to escape through.
Other homeowners have requested a new entrance and exit so that residents, many whom are elderly people, would be able be evacuate more quickly in the event of an emergency.
