There are a lot of changes coming into force this year regarding park home legislation. The first of these updates will apply from 26th May and concerns the private sale of park homes – so make sure you keep on reading if you think it might affect you.
The new regulations for selling and gifting park homes will affect all licensed parks in England with protected residential pitches.
Although the updated legislation as a whole is fairly complex, the Park Home Forum has kindly broken down the main points that park home owners embarking on a private sale will need to know:
• The seller must give the proposed buyer background documentation including a buyer’s information form on the park home, details of the grounds on which park owners can apply for a refusal order and details of commission payments to be made to the park home owner
• Sellers must notify buyers about any other miscellaneous information that could affect the sale of their park home
• The park home site must be provided with a notice of proposed sale, signed by both the seller and buyer, or a proposed gift notice signed by the ‘gifter’ along with evidence that the recipient is a current member of their family
